Welcome to Portland Ice Arena's Figure Skating Program!

Our staff is pleased to offer figure skating sessions designed to satisfy the needs of skaters of every level and age. Features such as conditioning, program practice, group ice dance, seminars, exhibitions and ice shows supplement a year-round offering of open freestyle sessions.

The summer skating school runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, approximately 3-8 pm, leaving ample time free each day so that students may take part in other seasonal activities.

A qualified staff of professionals is available for private lessons. Guest professionals with a following are welcome to teach at all sessions.

Whether you are a recreational skater or competitor, Portland Ice Arena offers a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to achieve your personal goals. We hope you will join us.

Instruction -- Private and semi-private lessons should be arranged directly with your professional. Payment for these lessons are not included in ice fees and should also be handled directly with your professional

2010  Figure Skating Schedule & Registration Form

Costs: Pre-Registration fee - All pre-registered units $10.00
Walk-on fee - A fee of $11.00 per unit will be charged to any skater who is not pre-registered for any unit.

*Pre-registration for open freestyle sessions ensures your spot on the ice should late applications exceed registration limits. Pre-registration is offered at a lower rate than walk-on ice. You may also pre-register for selected dates; thereby reserving your spot on the ice as well as taking advantage of reduced rates. Pre-registration is determined by reserving unit 24 hrs. in advance of session

*All CLASSES are with an instructor.

*Jr. Conditioning Class - USFS Pre-Juvenile or ISI Freestyle 4 test or LOWER. Adults welcome.
*Gr. Dance Class - Beginner dancer - familiar with no more than the 1st six dances in the USFS test structure.
*Group Edges Class - Students must have passed the ISI Gamma level or equivalent.
**Low Priority Freestyle - Limited to Pre-Juvenile test or ISI Freestyle 4 test PASSED and lower
**High Priority Freestyle - Limited to Juvenile test - ISI Freestyle 5 test PASSED and higher.
