Portland Ice Arena Industrial Hockey League
The Portland Ice Arena Industrial Hockey League has been playing at the Portland Ice Arena, located at 225 Park Avenue, Portland, Maine for over two decades making it the oldest and most respected adult hockey league in Greater Portland. With four individual leagues encompassing all the skill levels the GPIHL has a league to suit each ability.
Division 1: The most elite league in the area. With former Pros (NHL and mer Division 1 players, former Division 3 players and former All-State High School/Prep School players making up the majority of the league. With a few exceptions this is an open division for all ages.
Division 2: An extremely competitive league comprised of teams with primarily moderately advanced players. These players may have played at the following levels: Junior B and C, Non-Varsity College (ACHA), Midget AAA or AA, Prep School or Varsity High School. This is an open division for all ages.
Division 3: Team is comprised primarily of experienced recreational level players, with the remainder of the team having Varsity or JV High School, Competitive Midget or Junior C experienced players. This is an open division for all ages. PLAYERS ON A DIVISION 1 ROSTER ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN DIVISION 3.
Gentlemen's League: Is an over thirty league with the exception of 2 roster spots per team for players under thirty but over 25. The league offers some former Pro and Division 1 players, solid skill players mixed with guys new to hockey and everything in between. This league contains the complete spectrum of hockey abilities.
